I’ve tried to keep my blog posts going every Thursday for Thriving Thursdays.
My perfectionist self sets expectations that I can write a blog that is helpful and inspiring. I try to find topics that will resonate and mean something to the reader.
The past two weeks have been very tough. A potential job for my husband did not come through. With his 5-high risk groups for COVID-19, he needs to STAY AT HOME so online work is something that is a must. So back to plan A to keep looking for a job.
I am very fortunate that I can work virtually. We have a big project that must go live in August, so lots of pressure there. I play a key role in keeping this project going forward but struggle with focus and memory as we continue our self-isolation. A lot of unknowns about when we will return to the office, so just trying to get my work done to the best of my abilities with as much compassion as I can find for myself.
Getting out in nature helps me a lot. Hearing the birds, seeing the trees and plants, feeling the wind. Feeling like I have space to breathe!
But when I cannot get out, I try to watch YouTube videos that bring nature to me.
Nature Soundscapes has a series of amazing nature videos of all types of places. Each is 8 hours long, so you could play them all day long! They have new uploads each week, too.
Sometimes I play these in the background while I work and it helps reduce my anxiety. Check them out!
